The national base closure commission last week approved a Pentagon plan to move nine of the 17 A-10 Thunderbolts from the 103rd Fighter Wing located at Bradley International Airport and retire the rest. The realignment is part of the Pentagon's proposal to shut or consolidate 62 major U.S. military bases and hundreds of smaller facilities.
Rell argues that the Pentagon needs her approval before moving or altering the guard unit.
The National Guard system, according to the lawsuit, is the successor to the original state militias. The state's right to maintain and direct that militia, the suit contends, is deeply rooted in both the U.S. and Connecticut constitutions. ..."
I don't know all the facts here but it seems that Connecticut, who will now be keeping the Nuclear Submarine Base, might just deserve NOT TO BE the only state WITHOUT a "flying mission", what ever that exactly entails.
It's obvious to me that Connecticut needs a most heavy duty "Flying Mission". Ready to be able to kick some butts in just a few minutes plus. Ready to be able to do what someone should have been able to do just about four years ago: Chase down a few errant passenger jets before they crash into some very tall buildings.
Go get'm Governor, please don't bow down to your fellow Republicans. They are way wrong on this one.
This is simply a State defending its State's Rights against the Pentagon and the White House.

Australians Throw Less Butts - U.S. Needs Pocket Ashtray and Field-Stripping Campaign...
Found this on Reuter's Environmental News site Planet Ark:
"7 billion cigarette butts are littered by Australia's 3.7 million smokers every year.
As a result, 7% of Australia's bushfires are caused by discarded cigarettes - that's over 4,500 fires a year caused by cigarettes and smoking materials.
To combat this Planet Ark, Clean Up Australia and Landcare Australia have distributed half a million Go Green pocket ashtrays into 1,000 Coles Myer retail stores.
We want smokers to use the Go Green pocket ashtray for the great Australian outdoors:
* Keep our beaches and waterways clean
* Reduce the risk of bushfires
* Help protect our wildlife and vegetation
* Stop the littering of 7 billion butts
* Avoid butt littering fines"

We need these things here in America. I just can't understand how people who would never even throw a little piece of paper on the ground because they "hate littering", don't hesitate to always, always throw their cig butts on the ground, and most people never even stamp them out, they just throw a burning butt right into the streets, sidewalks and peoples yards.
Do what I do: Field-Strip your smokes. Either stamp it out with your shoe, and then throw it in the garbage, or tear off or pull off the butt (throw in garbage, or pocket butt bag), throw the cig part on the ground and stamp it out completely. Bits of tobacco and little specks of white paper on the ground are not the problem, they blow away into dust or decompose quickly, but cig butt filters stay around for years, thousands of years for the majority of them, which are made from plastic or other petroleum based concoctions. Camel cigs use cotton filters which might be gone in only 10 or 100 years I forget which.
NYC Mayor Michael "Bloomburglar" should commission an AD campaign promoting better BUTT behavior.
Come on people, don't be stupid; fight the urge to throw those butts on the ground, burning or not.
In addition to helping the environment immensely, if there's less cig butt litter anti-smoking ZEALOTS will have less to whine about.

iPod Thieves Deserve Death When In The Act!
Yup, it's fair, if some dirtball (which you are if you ROB someone) is killed in the act of a robbery using violence or the threat of violence, they deserved it, period! Rip an iPod off someone and run into the street and get smashed by a truck, and iCheer, yup, you deserved it.
Go ahead, pull that stolen iPod out when a policeman is chasing you, and get shot when he thinks it's a gun? iCheer, you deserved it! Some piece of sheet tries to steal an iPod and gets beaten to death by the owner, iCheer, he deserved it. And the victim should be given the benefit of the doubt in claims of self-defence.

"The NYPD's news that iPods may be prompting a rise in subway crime gave the media a great way to sensationalize the darling MP3 player. For instance, ABC 7 had this cute graphic (right) and this catchy opening:
If the crime had a name, it would be called 'iRob'- subway riding-thieves targeting people listening to music on their iPod. When the time is right, the thief snatches the device and hops off the train just before the doors close.
But, as with many things, iPod users aren't that surprised and seem to be trucking along: One rider explains her nonchalance to the NY Times by saying, 'It was a concern when I first got it. But I live in Williamsburg, and on the L train everybody has one.' So along with funky glasses and exquisitely weathered denim, iPods seem to be standard issue in Williamsburg! Not only do we like the comparison of iPods to 8-ball jackets, which were stolen during many early 90s thefts, Gothamist liked one of the reader comments from yesterday's post and now we wonder the same: When are the iPod decoys coming? Or the headphones that look like hair extensions? "

Of course, if these thieves are caught and put through the system, and found guilty, they don't deserve a death sentence.
But in the act of committing a robbery using violence, the threat of violence, or even if a victim simply perceives the threat of violence, the robber(s) deserves whatever Karma dishes up for them, even a most painful and horrifying death.

Finally, charges have been filed in the monstrous case of an alleged gang rape of a handicapped girl and cover-up by her public high school's administrators:
Two students were charged today with sexually assaulting a mentally disabled girl in a high school auditorium. The former principal was charged with failing to notify police.
The case generated criticism because school officials did not immediately report the allegations to police and said they feared negative media attention if they did.
The 16-year-old girl told a teacher at Mifflin High School that she had been dragged into the auditorium March 9 and forced to perform oral sex on at least two boys as other students watched and one boy videotaped, according to investigators.
Two boys, Brandyn Hobbs, 15, and Timothy C. Armistead, 16, were charged with juvenile counts of sexual battery and kidnapping.
Regina Crenshaw, who was removed as principal because of the incident, was charged with failing to call police. If convicted, she could get anything from probation to 30 days in jail.
Crenshaw's still playing the blame game and waving around her victim card. A separate hearing on her termination scheduled for tomorrow.

Ronald Allen Grecula, of Bangor, Pa., has been held without bond since his arrest Friday at a Houston hotel during a meeting with undercover FBI agents. Investigators said Grecula was willing to build and sell an explosive device to terrorists to use against Americans.
He was charged with attempting to provide material support and resources to a designated foreign terrorist organization.
A bond-reduction hearing was held Thursday afternoon. An FBI agent testified that she has recordings of Grecula and his obvious hatred of America, including one where he made a toast saying, 'Everybody wants to kill Americans. I'll drink to that.'

Recently in Georgia, the president gave a speech only to have someone chuck a hand grenade at him. Lucky for all, the blast cap did not explode. Though originally thought to be a dud, the FBI later revealed the weapon was far from safe.
I can't possibly guess the assassin's reasoning, but I've heard enough people on campus proclaiming their hatred of George W. Bush to know that some wouldn't have shed many tears. And that's a shame.
If the assassin were looking for a way to hurt America, blowing up the president would be a good idea. Bush's martyrdom would put the last nail in the coffin of the liberal agenda. So, for those Bush-haters out there, here are 10 reasons you should stop praying for an assassinated G.W.B.:
1) Killing the president immediately generates sympathy for his cause. If the president died tomorrow, there would be no question that all of his nominees for the judicial branch would make it through the Senate.
2) A dead President Bush leaves a live Dick Cheney in charge. Need I say more?
3) The Pakistani political situation is drastically fragile. Should President Bush die, Musharraf's brutal, mostly secular dictatorship probably will be replaced by a brutal, religiously fundamental dictatorship, reducing the United States' chances of bringing in Osama bin Laden to nil.
4) Any criticisms of the administration will be regarded as more unpatriotic than ever. In the next election, you could expect to see Democratic primary candidates proclaiming that their Republican counterparts aren't 'fit to follow in President Bush's footsteps.'
5) Killing President Bush could spur another spate of international invasions, with or without U.N. approval. The U.S. military cannot deal with invading another country without further hollowing our ability to defend ourselves and respond to threats from other countries, such as a nuclear North Korea.
6) The news cycle would be justly co-opted. With the media so focused on one story, there wouldn't be time to examine important issues such as the government suppression in Uzbekistan or Egyptian election tampering. In fact, all foreign news that didn't directly affect the assassination would probably grind to a halt.
7) President Bush's status as a martyr would leave the electorate more polarized than ever, especially if liberals were seen as publicly irreverent to President Bush's memory. It would be a little different if natural selection decreed death-by-snacking, but toasting an assassin's success leaves a decidedly bitter taste in the national mouth.
8) Jeb Bush's popularity would skyrocket. He would undoubtedly win the Republican nomination and then the election in 2008. With the Supreme Court full of near-zombies, I would prefer a different man to pick the people who are going to strangle us with laws.
9) Killing George Bush won't end any of the policies people disagree with. An assassination would merely strengthen our resolve to stay the course in Iraq, keep troops in Saudi Arabia, support our Israeli allies, etc. Policies don't die just because the president does.
10) Slaying President Bush is simply immoral. Anyone who advocates purposefully killing someone defenseless (and a democratically elected leader, no less) is clearly value-challenged. I don't understand the logical contortions some people must go through to be anti-death penalty yet pro-assassination.
In all seriousness, I don't hate President Bush. I dislike a lot of his administration's choices, but I think he's a good man doing a difficult job. As a leader, you're always going to be hated. I am too often shocked by the vitriolic repulsion many people feel for our leader and America in general, especially because the loathing is often poorly informed. I've met people on this campus who see America as the worst human rights abuser in the world (unlike the angelic paradise of Cambodia) and people who sway liberal not because they actually know anything about issues but because it's popular.
Liberalism has to be more than a college fad or a collection of loudmouths whose idiotic comments stir headlines. The rabid dislike some people feel for a man they've never even met makes me ashamed to be a Democrat.

Judge Discriminating Against Paganism Is Out-Of-Order!
Where's the ACLU when you need them? They routinely fight against Christian traditions, they defend Islamic Fascists, let's see if they step in to help their friends at the ICLU. Their help probably won't be needed however, this Judge is so wrong, it would be hilarious if it wasn't so sad and maddening.
From the Indianapolis Star: Judge: Parents can't teach pagan beliefs:
"An Indianapolis father is appealing a Marion County judge's unusual order that prohibits him and his ex-wife from exposing their child to 'non-mainstream religious beliefs and rituals.'
The parents practice Wicca, a contemporary pagan religion that emphasizes a balance in nature and reverence for the earth.
Cale J. Bradford, chief judge of the Marion Superior Court, kept the unusual provision in the couple's divorce decree last year over their fierce objections, court records show. The order does not define a mainstream religion. ..."

I'm pretty confident this ruling will fail to survive on appeal, but I'm also sadly confident this judge won't be removed from a cushy job he clearly doesn't deserve.

Garcia, assistant secretary for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Boohoo, feel sorry for poor Saddam because people released pictures of him in his underwear, how utterly horrible. At least give him some colored underwear or flowery boxers, that will spruce up the next batch of pictures.

Let's Try Guilty BY REASON Of Insanity For A Change!
If this piece of human trash had been found guilty by reason of insanity for bashing his sister's head in, he wouldn't have been able to kill his girlfriend's kid. It was from Newsday.com: Texas Jurors Convict Man in Boy's Death
"SAN ANTONIO -- A man was convicted of murder Wednesday for smothering his girlfriend's 6-year-old son and stuffing the boy's body in an oven last year.

Jurors deliberated for just under four hours before rejecting the defense's argument that Pierott was mentally ill and didn't know smothering the child was wrong. ..."
"During the trial, prosecutors wheeled into the courtroom the beat-up oven in which Tre-Devin's body was found, lying in a fetal position. Police said the oven had all its burners on and the oven temperature turned to 600 degrees, but the oven did not heat because the pilot light wasn't lit.

Black Woman Fakes Hate Crime To Get Out Of School!

Hey Kids, Make Meth So Cops Can Steal Your Parent's Home!
If you ever wondered whether the righteous "Drug Warriors" wanted kids to become the next drug criminals to keep the pipeline filled, you can stop wondering. I mean hey, the Drug War is a $20,000,000,000 (give or take a couple of billion) a year industry, it can't be just maintained; like all industries, it must expand.

It is part chemistry class and part drug enforcement as a member of the Grays Harbor drug task force talks to Elma High School students about making Methamphetamine.
Deputy shows class: "Then you'll have a little bit down at the bottom, the white stuff, and that's your meth."
One parent considers it a recipe for disaster. ..."
Ya think? Not for the Warriors. The War costs BIG bucks, and the Warriors are allowed to help fund themselves by seizing peoples homes, cars, and cash. Even if they never charge the owners with a drug crime, they do all they can to try NOT to return what they've stolen.
Of course "The Elma Schools superintendent says the district will also review the material but stands by this effort to educate the students. ..."
And in all fairness "The sheriff's office says they don't give specifics about the recipe and they emphasize how explosive the process is."
But come on, don't you think this might inspire an extra kid here and there to find the missing pieces to the magic puzzle? The Pacific Northwest is known as a problem area.
Then, when the kids' meth labs explode in their parents' homes' basements, the Cops can come and still sieze the land, even if the house is destroyed. Good chance they'll get to keep it too, even if the parents are never charged.
Seriously, the Warriors want all people to stop using drugs so they can update their resumes and get new careers, they want to be made obsolete.
They don't want the focus of the war to be changed from enforcement to treatment, they don't want to have to retrain to become "Drug Treatment Officers", that's too touchy feely, they want to remain Warriors, it's much more exciting.
Tons of people are employed by the "Drug Fraud" effort, and quite a few are GETTING BLOODY RICH from it. They deserve employment and opportunity too. This is America after all.

Muslims Killing Muslims! Iraqi Gov't Getting Mad!
From the VOA News - Bodies of 50 Former Hostages Discovered in Iraq's Tigris River
"Iraq's president says the bodies of 50 people who were held hostage in recent days have been recovered from the Tigris River, and he has vowed action against the killers. Meanwhile, people in a town northwest of Baghdad reported they found 19 bullet-riddled bodies in a soccer stadium, and they believe the dead men were new Iraqi soldiers.
Iraqi President Jalal Talabani told reporters in Baghdad the bodies found in the river included men, women, and children. He says they were kidnapped late last week.
"Terrorists committed crimes there. It is not true to say that there were no hostages," he says. "There [were], they were killed and they [the hostage-takers] threw the bodies into the Tigris and more than 50 bodies have been brought out from the Tigris and we have the full names of those that were killed and those criminals who committed those crimes. And Mr. Prime Minister, Dr. Allawi, he is going to deal with it. ..."
Hopefully soon, the Good Muslims will start killing more and more of the BAD Muslims.

Fox's "24" Is VERY Far Far-fetched BUT MOST Terrorists ARE Arab Islamic Fascists!
Nfamous over at The Bottom Half just doesn't get this "Terrorist" stuff. The Bottom Half: "24" More Right-Wing Propaganda
"I didn't watch the first two seasons of "24", which currently stars Kevin Sutherland as Jack Bauer, but since football season doesn't start for a while I figured I'd give this season a shot. I must admit it is entertaining. There are a lot of shock and awes which leads me to my point. This season is all about Jack and CTC stopping the Arab terrorists. Do we really need to be further spreading anti-Islamic propaganda? Bush does just fine on his own.
Not only does "24" depict all Arabs as terrorirsts but CTC tortures them Abu Ghraib-style and worse in their efforts to extract information from them. It's almost as if they are trying to legitimize torture with the American public. I don't care how entertaining this show might be I will never support its warped depictions of Arabs or any other people. Unfortunately most people do fall prey to this media propaganda to some extent and end up supporting Bush even when disagree with him on pivotal issues. This type of show does nothing but increase tensions between all ethnic groups.
"24" stereotypes everyone. Women and minorities are passed over for promotions. Only white men are in charge of everything ultimately. I realize previous seasons had a black president which probably explains why "24" did so bad in the ratings those initial seasons. The same thing happened to Star Trek's "Deep Space Nine" series. People just don't like to see blacks running the show, not even many blacks themselves, even more appalling. In the end, there is no winner when we fan the flames of racism at every turn. We all lose."
Despite being very entertaining, Fox TV's thriller "24" (Mondays 9pm) is about as far-fetched and unrealistic as a TV show depicting realism could possibly be, but this year's terrorist villains, as master-minded by Middle Easterners (Arabs), are certainly the most believable part of the show.
Terrorists who are Arabs have committed many many thousands of admitted terrorist acts, most of these in Israel alone.
So "24" having Middle Easterners (Arabs) as most of the terrorists involved in their isolated 24 hour incidents is hardly a stretch.
Sorry, but I don't have the energy right now to list all the flaws in "24". Maybe later, suffice it to say that in real life nothing BIG and BAD ever happens and resolves itself within 24 hours.
That being said, I highly recommend it for heart-stopping, fast-paced, edge-of-your-seat TV entertainment; and for reminding us that the next terrorist attack we survive will most likely be perpetrated by Middle Eastern Islamofascists who will most likely have Arab blood.

David B. Chalmers: Texas Businessman Indicted in UN Iraq Oil-for-Food SCAMOLA!
From the New York Times: Finally, another American, this time a real American (but WHO REALLY is this guy?), not an Iraqi born one, has been indicted in the UN's Iraq Oil-for-Food SCAM:
"A Texas businessman, as well as a British and a Bulgarian citizen, have been indicted in New York for reportedly paying millions of dollars in secret kickbacks to Saddam Hussein's government in Iraq as part of the United Nations oil-for-food program.
The Texan, David B. Chalmers, a principal of Bay Oil U.S.A. Inc., and an associate of the company, Ludmil Dionissiev, a Bulgarian and permanent American resident, were arrested this morning at their homes in Houston.
The United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, David N. Kelley, said at a news briefing this morning in Manhattan that he would seek the extradition from England of a third defendant, John Irving.
Mr. Kelley said Mr. Chalmers and the other defendants played 'a pivotal role' in efforts to fix the price of oil that was traded and sold under the oil-for-food program and 'facilitated the payment of illegal surchages' on the oil to the Hussein government.
The money was intended to be used for relief purposes.
In a complaint stemming from the same investigation, a South Korean citizen, Tongsun Park, is charged with conspiracy to act in the United States as an unregistered agent of the Iraqi government in creating the oil-for-food program.
Mr. Park, who is believed to be living in South Korea, is said to have received $2 million from the Iraqi government, and to have used some of that money 'to take care of' a United Nations official, Mr. Kelley said.
Mr. Chalmers is the second American indicted in the scandal-ridden program.
Many member countries at the United Nations have refused to cooperate fully with a separate, independent inquiry by investigators looking into waste, fraud and mismanagement in the oil-for-food program, which was approved by the Security Council in 1995, allowing Iraq to sell limited quantities of oil in return for essential goods.
The Independent Inquiry Committee, head by Paul A. Volcker, former head of the Federal Reserve, has issued two interim reports of its findings, and a final report is due in midsummer.
In its first interim report, on Feb. 4, the commission found that the former head of the program, Benon V. Sevan, had a 'grave and continuing conflict of interest' in helping a friend obtain valuable Iraqi oil contracts and said a second United Nations official, Joseph Stephanides, had violated procurement rules. Both men have been suspended and are in the process of answering United Nations charges against them.
Questions have also been raised about the participation of Kojo Annan, son of the United Nations secretary general, Kofi Annan. The elder Mr. Annan was criticized in the most recent interim report on the grounds that he failed to perceive the appearance of a conflict of interest when Kojo Annan was employed by a contractor employed by the program.
Kofi Annan told 1,600 employees gathered in the General Assembly hall on April 6 that there had been 'troubling lapses' in the management of the Iraq program but that he was making changes to prevent any recurrence.
The other American indicted in connection to the oil-for-food program was Samir A. Vincent, an Iraqi-American businessman. On Jan. 18, he pleaded guilty to lobbying influential Americans on behalf of Mr. Hussein without registering as a foreign agent. Mr. Vincent admitted he had secretly been paid hundreds of thousands of dollars and granted rights to sell millions of dollars' worth of Iraqi oil, in exchange for working to end United Nations economic sanctions imposed in 1990. He is now cooperating with Mr. Kelley."

Dolphins Humping Enemy SCUBA Divers?
After reading this piece from Foggy Ruminations, you won't be worried about enemy SCUBA divers ever again, probably.
Basically, the terrorists just aren't up to the task, what with all the the serious and precise training, technology, planning and attitude required. It's just too risky, the odds of success are extremely low, and there's generally not a big enough potential terror benefit.
With all this, they've still got the killer dolphins to worry about.

Basically, the terrorists just aren't up to the task, what with all the the serious and precise training, technology, planning and attitude required. It's just too risky, the odds of success are extremely low, and there's generally not a big enough potential terror benefit.

Boo hoo, little Jimmy Carter won't go to the Pope's funeral as part of President Bush's party. He was snubbed, Dubya didn't beg him to come. Boo hoo...
He also could've flown over on his own dime, who would of stopped him? But no, instead he sucks up to his imagined arch-enemy George W. Bush, and then acts all surprised and indignant when he partially imagines he's been spurned. Boo boo hoo...stay home Jimmy.

Oklahoma City Bombing Has Clear Mid-East Connection!
After checking this out, see if you don't wonder why the FBI and the Justice Department not only refuse to investigate a Middle Eastern connection in the Oklahoma City Bombing, they also refuse to DENY that there WAS NOT such a connection.
You should also wonder why this intelligence bungling and Arab appeasement which began under the Clinton administration, has continued to this day under the supposed "War on Terror" Bush crowd.

FBI Crackerjacks - Stumblebums Again?
Duh! Apparently the FBI needed a tip to finally do a thorough search of Oklahoma Bomber Terry Nichol's home almost 10 years after the fact. CNN.com - FBI finds explosives in Nichols home - Apr 1, 2005
"Tipped they may have missed evidence a decade ago, FBI agents searched the former home of convicted Oklahoma City bombing conspirator Terry Nichols and found blasting caps and other explosive materials apparently related to the 1995 attack, officials said Friday.
FBI officials said the material was found buried in a crawl space of the house in Herington, Kansas, which wasn't checked by agents during the numerous searches of the property during the original investigation of Nichols and Timothy McVeigh...."
Wow, a crawl space! Ingenious! I would never expect anyone to be astute enough to search a crawl space, I can understrand how the FBI might miss that. I mean they'd have to get down on their hands and knees and crawl around and get dirty and stuff. What a pain, besides, no one trying to hide bomb making material would ever go to the trouble of using a crawl space, nah. It's just too obvious.
If it wasn't just so pathetic and sad, and downright reckless and dangerous, it would be hilarious.

Kenny's Feeding Tube Removed!
This week's episode of South Park addresses many wild angles of a "Terry Schiavo" type case.
Kenny (the character who is killed off in every show) gets hit, run over, and killed by a truck whose driver is distracted by playing the latest hand-held video game. He's thrilled that he's reached Level 4.
Kenny was hit because he was standing in the middle of the road distracted by playing the same game. He's thrilled that he's reached Level 59!
In Heaven, Kenny learns that because he has the highest score on Earth he's been chosen by God to lead Heaven in the impending video game-commanded war against the more populous and powerful Hell. Without their "Keanu Reeves", Heaven is doomed, just like the humans in "The Matrix" are doomed against the machines without Reeve's charachter "Neo".
But trouble looms, back on the Earthly plane, in the hospital, Kenny has been brought back to life after being dead for 24 hours. But now with severe brain damage, he's in a persistent vegetative state and must be kept alive with a feeding tube.
In his will (read while he's thought to be dead), Kenny has left the greedy Cartman all his worldly possessions, but his wishes for how he should be treated if he becomes a vegetable are on the last page, which has been lost.
So Cartman wants Kenny dead; to win their war, Hell needs him to live, and Heaven needs him to die.
A judge, siding with Cartman, orders his feeding tube to be removed.
So of course, the fight escalates, and everyone gets sucked into what becomes a huge media frenzy.
The Devil's boyfriend (yes, I said boyfriend) even tries feeding lines to a Bush-like Republican leader who is giving a speech arguing to save Kenny's life by re-inserting the feeding tube. Thus, if Kenny lives, Hell wins.
Finally, the judge finds the last page of Kenny's will which states that if he ever becomes a vegetable he wishes simply not to be shown on national television in that condition. So everyone leaves him alone in his hospital room, Kenny dies, and then goes back to Heaven, and proceeds to lead it to a decisive and violent victory over Hell.
The creators of South Park gently make fun of most everybody involved, except Kenny, and unlike Terry Schiavo, he'll be back next week.
I want to believe that Heaven, or its equivalent, has plans for Terry too.

On HBO: "Left of the Dial", For A Change...???
Who actually could have really thought that there was no place, or demand, for liberal talk radio? I mean come on, the U.S. is practically 50/50 when it comes to "Liberal" or "Conservative", at least with respect to most Democrat (liberal) vs. Republican (conservative) presidential elections.
The story of Air America Radio now showing on HBO: Documentaries - Left of the Dial, is an interesting and worthwhile viewing for liberals as well as conservatives.
Everybody should be inspired and energised by this, albeit for many different reasons.

New Jersey Laser Finally Monkey Indicted!
What an idiot this guy is, and he tried to blame it on his little daughter. This fool shined hisLaser at Commercial Jetsand then said his kid did it. What a stupid jerk, this is what a "monkey" is.
They leave the daughter part out of it here, but I remember the initial stories.

David W. Banach, who claimed he was looking at stars with his daughter, also was accused of lying to the FBI about the Dec. 29 incident in which the jet's windshield and cabin were hit three times with a beam as the plane approached Teterboro Airport..."

In a meeting held earlier this month, Google's board decided not to give 2004 bonuses to the company's chief executive, Eric Schmidt, or its co-founders, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, according to documents filed Wednesday by the Mountain View-based company.
The men, who consult on most of Google's key decisions, each received a $1,566 holiday bonus besides their salaries, which are modest compared with most high-profile companies. All Google workers received the same holiday bonus last year. Schmidt collects a $250,000 salary while Brin and Page each receive $150,000 annually, according to disclosures made as part of Google's closely watched initial public offering of stock.
The wealth created in that IPO ensured Google's three top executives would never have to work again, if they so desired.
All three men rank among the world's richest men. Brin and Page each are worth $7.2 billion, while Schmidt is worth $2.8 billion, according to Forbes magazine's most recent wealth survey..."
Yes, it's a very telling statement. What good can come from rubbing your wealth in your employees faces by reminding them that your BIG Multi-million $$ bonus means barely anything at all to you or to your net worth.

Mahdi Army Beats 2 Students to Death in Basrah
No one seems to have reported the latest events in Basrah. Not any of the news services or the blogs.
Students of the Basrah and Shatt Al-Arab universities in Basrah city have been on strike for the last three days as a reaction to the attack last week by Sadrists and Mahdi Army militiamen on tens of students organising a field trip or a picnic at Al-Andalus park, downtown Basrah.
Hooded men assaulted the students with rubber cables and truncheons which resulted in the death of a Christian girl, Zahra Ashour, and another student who came to her rescue after militiamen had tore off her clothes and were beating her to death. He was shot in the head.
Students say that their belongings, such as mobile phones, cameras, stereo players and loudspeakers, were stolen or smashed to pieces by the militiamen. Girl students not wearing headscarves, most of them Christian, were severely beaten and at least 20 students were kidnapped and taken to Sadr's office in Al-Tuwaisa for 'interrogation' and were only released late at night.
Students also say the police and British soldiers were nearby but did not intervene..."
Let's hope the tables eventually turn on these little fanatics, and the new and future Iraqi government puts them gently but firmly in their places.

Brave Islamic Reformer Irshad Manji Does Bill Maher...
The very brave Islamic progressive reformer,Irshad Manji, author of The Trouble with Islam Today.was on the panel of Bill Maher's show tonight. She was a voice of pure reason, and clearly enjoyed putting the often quite funny moonbat Richard 'but there's lots of other dictators out there...' Belzer into a nearly out of control liberal rhetoric rant.
Islam needs more truth-talkers like her, and the mad Mullah loving Islamowhackos put her in the same Blasphemy Club as Salman Rushdie.

He takes issue with her book not mentioning the many Muslims that did fight against Nazism.

FREE Speech Monkey of the Month: Matt Taibbi
For crudely and cruelly insultingthe dying Pope like a politicaly aware 13 year old punk, the New York Press's Matt Taibbi will probably be looking over his shoulder fearing shadows for years.
Lloyd Grove at the NY Daily News lists many political and religious bigwigs who are just plain horrified.
With over 1.06 billion baptised Catholics by 2001, it's possible that just a few people might be insanely teed off about this.
What percentage of Catholics will be absolutely livid and out of their minds over this?
What about just 1%? Is that reasonable? No, let's say just .1%. Just one out of a thousand.
That will only be 1 million angry and seething Catholics possibly praying for the end of Matt Taibbi.
Let's hope praying is all they do.

What a surprise! The FAA are a bunch of idiots and negligent fools!
The New York Times breaks wide open with the news that the 9/11 Report belatedly mentions that the FAA had many warnings about Islamofascist terrorists' plans to hijack airplanes and crash them into major landmarks, most likely, U.S. ones.
Unfortunately, in these warnings there were no names, dates, addresses, maps, phone numbers or itineraries, so the FAA just must have figured they were joking, or that the threat would go away if they focused instead on how to make airline travel more enjoyable, efficient, and profitable.

Leave ALL Children Behind?
I'm sure Bush & Company want and think their "No Child Left Behind" scheme will work at improving our school's results, but if what one of my teacher friends pointed out to me is any example, it sounds like way too much micro-managing and old Soviet style "Central Planning".
This friend teaches Special Education in a Connecticut high school. Apparently, some parents of "Special-Ed" students have complained that their children shouldn't be put in "Special" classes, that they belong in regular classes with everybody else. Thus, even the kids who are severely retarded and/or are severe behavior problems, will be "integrated" into the regular classrooms.
It seems like it will be confusing and disrupting to all the students.

Maybe the Chinese Government Isn't Evil. NOT!!!
Reading the recent Newsday AP posting "Chinese Show Off Repentant Falun Gong" , I almost get the impression that the AP writer Audra Ang is giving too much of a benefit of the doubt to the Chinese Government and the ruling, heavy-handed, and most evil Communist Party.
It's as though the fact that this one person who decided to denounce the harmless spritual and yoga philosophy Falun Gong just to save himself from further brutal and sadistic torture, somehow shows that maybe the Communists have some justification in their despicable behavior towards its followers and supporters.
They have none, nada, zip!
Maybe appeasers of dictators will excuse their rampant sexual abuse and gang rapings of Falun Gong women.
Maybe foolish lovers of communism will be understanding of the psychiatric abuse, and the horrific forced feeding operations performed on Hunger Strikers.
Possibly some sick and idiotic followers of the simpleton Karl Marx will condone the brutal and often fatal beatings, people being forced to stand naked outside in the snow for hours, or being kept for months in cramped, lightless, water-dungeons with near freezing temperatures filled with sewage and dead rats and snakes.
It's all OK if it's in the interest of protecting communism, right?
Sure, it's quite acceptable to beat children, and burn people with cigarettes and irons.
Therefore it must also be quite alright to tie people down to tables and torture them for hours with multiple electric cattle prods.

At least deep down, the Chinese Government seems to feel that what they're doing is wrong. That's because they won't admit to any of the grossly inhumane abuses (you may be able to see some videos here) they've promulgated and continue to sanction.
They don't admit to any atrocities, they typically tell the families of those who've died while in captivity that their loved ones committed suicide or caught a deadly case of the flu.
They don't want the rest of the world to know, they KNOW what they are doing is wrong.

So what can we do? Well, we can all talk this up as much as possible, tell everyone we know what is happening. Send people the link to this posting, send them the links you see here, or ones you find elsewhere. If you pass some Falun Gong on the street handing out pamphlets or their newspapers, take'm, read'm, and pass'm on. Word spreads, spread the word!
We can also let our Senators and Representatives know that we know, and that we're pissed the U.S. Guv and the White House isn't doing more chastising of China.

This is what communism can lead to folks, brutal hysteria over something which is feared by the leaders to be a threat to their official line of BS. Communism does not work, and can never work. People can only be forced to live under such a flawed system, but man's individualities, his differing dreams and appetities, and his motivations will chafe against this artificial system towards the more natural free-market models.
By the way, George Mason University has a pretty informative little Museum of Communism which is very interesting and quick to visit.
In fact, since Falun Gong was probably a way for China's people to better put up with all the crap foisted on them by the Communist system; trying to destroy Falun Gong may actually hasten the eventual demise of the communist lie.

Is Anybody Really Surprised the Saudis Got Off?
I'm disappointed, but I'm not surprised that some Federal court dismissed the 9/11 lawsuits against the slippery, two-faced Saudi government today.
Just because Bin Laden hates the Saudi Royals as well as hating us, doesn't mean that the Saudi Ruling Princes are anywhere near totally on our side.
Their brand of Islam wants everyone else to join them and obey their ways, or DIE!.
But not really "join" them. According to an old friend of this LBPD who's lived there for years, the Princes and their buddies break all sorts of "rules" of Islam, including like drinking the best single malts, smoking the best herb and hashish, and importing large harems of some of the most exquisite global "call girls" petrodollars can buy. It's a party!

Well, did he say "----ing" or "eFing"? There's a difference. "eF this!" or "eF that!" is just NOT the same as saying the whole big bad word, as much as peoples' dirty minds and expectations want to make it so.
Just like NFLer Randy Moss didn't really "moon" anybody.
It's a shame but, implied, disguised, and coded obscenities are NOT the same as outright obscenities.
So, if your kid asks: "Daddy, what's 'eFing' mean?" or "Mommy, what's 'BLANKing" mean?" Just tell them that it's nothing, just an adult trying to be efing(very) clever.
ALSO, what are the profligate, yet still cheap Republican party planners doing cramming pre-teens in with young adults, and putting teenager Hillary Duff on the same venue with hard rock band Fuel? What were they thinking might happen? (Just like what did CBS think might happen when they had MTV do the half-time of last years Super Bowl.)
They must have thought: "It'll be SO cute!" having all the little tweens jumping and cheering and screaming their love for Dubya.
No, they couldn't just have an extra party for the little kids. That's too easy. CHEAP!

Let The Oil-For Food Chips Fall...
Yey! Finally someone has plead guilty to charges filed by the USA's DOJ in the ever-developing UN Oil-For-Food Scandal, by far the biggest financial scam in this planet's history.
Hopefully "Samir A. Vincent, 64, a naturalized U.S. citizen from Annandale, Va" will be the first of many earthlings from around the globe to be skewered for their dirty dealings in helping to prop-up, fund, support and defend the Butcher of Baghdad and his despicable school girl-raping sons.
It's only right that the first dirt-ball to be squeezed should be an American who's already in this country, as opposed to some Fronchman who's safe in Fronce for example.
Vincent is facing up to 28 years safe behind bars. Let's hope his plea deal doesn't cut more than half of that off for cooperating with the Feds in naming names and such.
America's most likely new Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice claims she'll get tough on this UN garbage. Time will tell, we can only hope.
Of course, we will keep hearing about the UN stalling and stonewalling, and praising the enabling efforts of the formerly esteemed retiree Paul Volker.

Smoke'm If Ya Got'm, If Not, Buy Some...
The City of New York doesn't really want people to stop smoking. If they did, they would have raised the cigarette tax 20,000% in 2002. No, let's make that increase 200,000%.
If NYC's multi-billionaire Mayor Michael Bloomburg had raised the tax from 8 cents a pack to $160 per pack of cancer sticks, instead of the measly almost 2000% increase to $1.50, I'm guessing that might have driven at least 95% of smokers to go very cold turkey.
But NO, they couldn't do that! If nobody smoked, the BIG HAND of government would have to dream and scheme even more about how to fleece the people of their hard earned wages.
Of course, New York State went along with the city in 2002, raising their cig tax, and together the tax per pack went to $3.00, the highest in the nation. Why not, all of New York's and NYC's other taxes were already among the highest in the land of the free, they just wanted to be consistent.

But NO, they couldn't do that! If nobody smoked, the BIG HAND of government would have to dream and scheme even more about how to fleece the people of their hard earned wages.
Of course, New York State went along with the city in 2002, raising their cig tax, and together the tax per pack went to $3.00, the highest in the nation. Why not, all of New York's and NYC's other taxes were already among the highest in the land of the free, they just wanted to be consistent.

What A Planet!
What a neighborhood! What a town! What a country! What a planet!
We've got it all folks: life and death, beauty and ugliness, happiness and sadness, construction and destruction, black and white, pink and grey, hot and cold, cruelty and compassion, genius and stupidity; of course everything in between, and a hell of a lot more!
So, now that I've finally started this thing, what should I write about first?
